Dehnel-Particle Accelerator Components and Engineering, Inc (D-Pace) was founded by Dr Morgan Dehnel in 1995 as a supplier of specialised components and technical support for beamline systems, beam diagnostic devices, and ion sources for research, industrial, and commercial accelerator systems around the world.

Buckley Systems Limited, a major supplier of components to D-Pace, purchased a 50% stake in the company in 2014. The partnership has allowed D-Pace to pursue exciting opportunities, including the construction of the Ion Source Test Facility (ISTF) based at Buckley Systems Limited in Auckland, New Zealand. The facility has proved a huge benefit to both companies, allowing research into new ion sources and real-world testing of new beam diagnostic products and the development and commercialisation of over a dozen new products.

Much of this work is cutting-edge discovery science undertaken by Ph.D. students from universities in Canada and New Zealand.

D-Pace is based in Nelson, British Columbia, Canada and employs over a dozen staff in the engineering design, software development, installation, training and servicing of their products. Morgan Dehnel undertakes the role of Chief Scientific and Innovation Officer for both D-Pace and Buckley Systems Limited.
