The wire coil winding department has recently been moved into its own dedicated workshop. The new space is temperature controlled, has improved lighting, and is well removed from sources of potential contamination. While large, strip wound and hollow core conductor magnets are a big part of our business, we make high numbers of wire wound coils such as compact ion source coils, trim/shim coils, and other specialised precision coils of all sizes. Our smallest wire wound magnets weigh tens of grams and our largest so far has measured 3.3 metres (10’ 10”) in diameter, weighing almost 3.5 tons (7,500 lbs). The move of the department reflects the importance of the wire winding operation to our business and a dedication to the constant improvement of our products.
